I am a Professor of Operations Management and Organization Design at IE University. I am interested in the design, management, and governance of all kinds of organizations: small and large, public and private, for-profit and non-profit. I received my Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Minnesota in 2000.

Since 2000, I have taught organization economics, organization design, governance, operations management, and research methods in the U.S., France, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, and my native Finland.  I also publish my research on these topics in peer-reviewed academic journals. My primary practitioner-oriented publication is the book Efficient Organization: A Governance Approach (Oxford University Press), co-authored with Joseph T. Mahoney. In the book, we take a practical look at organization design and governance.
